My old Redoubt Napoleonic Figures

 

Some of my old Redoubt figures I got in the 90's I think when I was 19 or 20. They were my first metal 28mm Historical Wargaming Figures. There was a nice guy in California who used to carry them Doug Carrico, I think his name was. used to ship them out before I think my check cleared in  just a few days from California to New Jersey in those days when the mail was slow:). I used to order from the catalog or sometimes I used to have my dad order from the phone, used to suffer and still do from social anxiety disorder was very scared of talking to people on the phone,Now I think I have overcome it:) you can see the paint jobs are something to be desired. I did get my painting to a good standard in a few years. then I left the hobby. I have returned in the last few years. You can see they made an unoffical Richard Sharpe, they had made a Harper too but I cannot find him probably somewhere in my storage. I played with my own skirmish rules. Then played Green Jackets which was a free set online by a guy named Richard Denning I think his name was. they were pretty good rules. they were published in an edition of Wargames Illustrated also. I have the First in the Field rules published by Redoubt but never played them. I think Mr. Carrico ceased trading long ago, I ordered once or twice from the UK and got my orders. It is a shame Redoubt I think will cease trading. The old ranges are going away. I hope someone picks it up. I got a boatload of Redoubt Napoleonic French from Noble Knight recently and at a good price:). I just heard the owners of Gripping Beast are retiring which is sad. I hope someone picks up that range and wish the owners well on their retirement.

Matchlock Miniatures Regency Zombie Humters from Caliver Books in the UK

  A few months a go I got some Regency Zombie Hunters from Caliver Books in the Uk. They are for the ruleset Jane Austen Zombie Killer by Jasmin Storey Smith. I just flip through the rules never got a good read of them but I will later for another review. The castings on these miniatures is excellent. You can see them pictured here. I got mostly male figures but they have female figures too. Most of them are from literary works of the period. These would be an excllent choice for your Silver Bayonet armies am as they are mostly civilians they would fit in with most European Napoleonic Armies. I am going to use some in my Silver Bayoner French warband. Shipping to US from Uk was fairly quick , I think they cast them on order but I am not sure, and it came well packed and shipping costwas resonable. Shipping will be little high to the USA these days  but thats a fact of life and you have to live with it, shipping is expensive if you buy overseas, but these figures were worth it. Garibaldi and Co Toy Soldiers made in Italy. Colonel George Washington and General Wolfe

These are some nice Toy Soldiers from Garibaldi and Company a company that was based in Rome Italy. The figures are out of Production. Mignot General Louis Lepic He commanded The Horse Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard. At Eylau when he saw his Horse Grenadiers ducking at the the bullets whizzing by, he famously said "Heads up gentlemen. These are bullets not turds."

Flintloque Pro-Painted Starter Set Escape From The Dark Czar

I purchased the Alternative Armies Flintloque Escape from the Dark Czar Starter Set and I was pleased with what I got It is only 40 pounds or $52 for 10 painted Flintloque miniatures a rule starter book three scenarios and 2 percentile dice. i had bought the Deadloque starter set in 1999 or 2000 I don't remember, and never played it but I was always intrigued by Alternative Armies Fantasy Napoleonic World. The miniatures are well painted, you get 4 Ferach Alliance and 6 Undead. I bought some other painted miniatures from them which I will show later. I did not check out the rules and sceanrios yet. The turnaround was fast from Scotland to the US. All in All i recommend this product and Alternative Armies painted figures. I rarely buy painted figures but these days i am having a hard time painting miniatures so i tried out this starter set from Alternative Armies.

Belgian infantryman and officer from the battle of Waterloo. Made by Alexander's Toy Soldier. https://www.ats-uk.net/ Made in England. pretty good toy soldiers in gloss style lot of detail. Its hard to find smaller armies of the Napoleonic wars figures, so this was a real treat.I recently visited Waterloo, and was impressed by it , I liked the Wellington Museum, and People who worked at the Museum ,Tourist Office, and Battlefield site, were very nice.
